Anyone find any deals on 303 British? Rumours of WW3 coming makes me figure I should pull the battle rifle out and get it ready....... lol

Cheapest I've seen is around $21-$23/box of the Russian made steel cased LVE .303 (often rebranded as Wolf Performance Ammunition). It can be, okay, depending on how tight of a bore you have. The problem with this .303 though, is that the bullet is a .308, not a proper .312 - which can cause keyholing. For "cheap" .303 it may be worth buying, pulling the undersized bullets and reloading...

Proline shooters in Calgary has PPU for Somewhere around $24 a box. Best deal I’ve seen and great guys to deal with, don’t know if they ship though.

I can’t find anything locally. I can’t even find brass to reload! Crazy. This stuff was a dime a dozen not that long ago.

The surplus is nearly impossible to find. I cleaned a store here in Calgary out of 80 round boxes when they brought it in of Greek HXP. Probably overpaid a bit but that ammo is awesome.

Cheaper than dirt site and irac vet 8888 has an episode where they have a wooden case of 303 british and Chad is leaning on it .

Bought a couple of boxes when CanadaAmmo had em on sale. Goes bang every time, but accuracy is really not that great. My no4 can do wonders with old surplus ball, but the IVI was giving me like 5-6 moa at 100...

I doubt you'll find any sort of ammunition that is going to give you match level accuracy, the rifles just aren't designed for it. If you take a look at the 1909 Musketry Regulations (British) you'll find the sort of accuracy the pre-WW1 professional army was looking for.

An excellent series of videos on the course(s) and shooting them is on youtube by Rob from Britishmuzzleloaders.

if you want to shoot a lot and keep the cost down you will have to reload and cast your own. I have and my cost is very low when I go to the range.
