.303 British from .30/40 Krag brass

I don't reload so I don't know if I could take on such an advanced reloading project off the bat (who am I kidding), but I read somewhere that .30/40 Krag brass has been used to fireform .303 british brass (longer case life, reduced chance of case separation), has anyone on CGN ever tried this and was it really worth the effort, and if you did try it what sort of results did you get, I'm sure we would all find it interesting.

Don't know why there should be longer case life or reduced chance of separation, unless the thought is that you could size to fit the chamber closely for the first shot.
It would only be necessary to size and trim.

Supposedly the head/web area of the .30/40 cases are tougher.

I wouldn't know about that. It could depend on the make of the cases.

303 = common and cheap

30-40 Krag = rare and expensive

If you are having real trouble getting 303 brass to last you should look at the headspace or how your dies are set.

Unless there is a particular reason to try to make your brass last longer or something I would just go to a gun show or someplace and get a few more bags of 303. Not quite as plentiful as it was years back but still a lot more around than 30-40.
