Hey all. I'm cooking up some loads for my Ross MKIII Sporter (tight chamber, yay!) and need a couple of solid, tested recipes for my loads. Here's the caveat, I don't want to spend any money, and will only use what I have on hand. So, here's a list what I have. If I really, really need to, I can buy different powders or bullets, but I would prefer to avoid that for the time being.

Hornady 150gr. SP Interlock
Mixed brass
CCI BR2 Primers
Ramshot TAC
Varget
RL15

I'm not really looking for performance, just a nice plinking load to screw around with at the range. I love shooting the thing and any trigger time I get behind it is a real pleasure.

So I went with a slightly stiffer load than Ganderite suggested. Hodgdon had a listing for my powder and bullet and ranged between 39.0 and 43.0, so I went halfway at 41.0.

My sad attempt at a fancy picture:

Many thanks to JPC for the FANTASTIC MkIV and MK4 chargers. They look and work SU-WEET!

I agree, the chargers look great ! A good load for my Enfield and Ross so far is 42.5 grains of RL15 behind a 150 grain Speer soft point .

I find those hornaday bullets are decent but not idea in my Ross and enfields. I've been running them seated with the canular just out of the case mouth. I find that .303's run best with a low charge of 4895, somewhere in the 36-38.5 grain range. With loads like that and these bullets I'm getting 1 1/2" at 100 yards off a rest with irons. Not my best groups but more then acceptable for plinking.
