We are resurrecting the Atlantic .303 British Championship which will tentatively be held this fall at Bull Meadow Rifle Range. Hirsch Precision is the sponsor and we have accumulated 470 rounds of FNM and have allocated Hornady FMJBT and brass. Sierra MK are being ordered but not sure about availability. Reloads will use N540 and will try other VihtaVuori powders.

Are the rifles to be "fully" original or are they permitted to be bedded? Rear Peep Sights permitted? (I doubt anyone over 50 can still use original sights????) Handloads permitted?
What distances are to be shot?

I would be interested in shooting this match for sure. Does one need to be a member of the NSRA to participate or will the event be open to the public? Also what equipment will be required (or should be picked up) for the first time shooter of this discipline besides the rifle, ammunition and chargers?

One can shoot service rifle or TR sights and there is a handicap for service sights as outlined in the original rules that where placed on the inside of the base of the trophy behind Plexiglas.

Handloads are permitted as is bedding.

Competitors must provide their own rifle which must be Service Rifle (a) or (b). (a) is as as issued, military sling, but bedding is OK. (b) is target rifle sights and match sling.

We have some issue ammo and extra spotting scopes.

Distances are 200, 500 and 600 metres.

We have the original nice trophy donated around 1984 by Charlie Bayne and Al Mutch who have agreed to do the presentation.

More to follow.

Peter
