Safety

Usually, there is a screw in the center that needs to be screwed on tight, and there is another holding the part; this part is made from spring steel and the lower screw gives it tensioning.
Be careful: if you take the thing apart, there is a multi-thread on it and the safety lever turns on those threads. If you happen to separate the two parts you'll have to try all the thread combinations to get the mating threads where they are supposed to mesh.
I have seen many an Enfield with unoperative safety lever because people had taken the safety assembly apart and couldn't figure out how to remount it ;)
PP.

On the No1MkIII's there should also be a little spacer between the spring and the safety, a little leftover from the days of the volley site.

Looks like a washer but has detents on it to catch on the spring.
