I did some load testing with the Longbranch 303 today on Sears catalogs today with some surprising results. First off the load data was 43 grains of H4895 under a Hornady 150 grain Interlock. The catalogs were 3.5 inches thick taped together tightly with clear packing tape and was set up against a gravel bank. The catalogs were set up at 60 yards away and I wanted to see how the bullets mushroomed at that distance. The bullet made a nice little hole going in and completely shredded the catalogs out the back. The bullet path created a perfect tunnel gradually getting larger as it passed through the catalogs. The tunnel on the back side of the catalogs was about 3 to 4 inches across. Next time its double the thickness and another 30 or 40 yards further down range.:) Well so much for seeing what that bullet looks like......... Now I know why the moose I shot didn't go very far after being shot with my 303's....

On a cardboard box full of dry magazines, I got 12 to 14 inches of penetration with Hornady Interlock 170's Dry medium like that is very tough on bullets, and not representative of game performace. They really should be soaking wet.
