303 British

Try the site sponsors' links at the top of the page, especially Trade Ex Canada, who have a reputation amongst Gunnutz for good prices and accurate descriptions of their goods. They recently had some Lee Enfield No.4s that weren't sporterised. Ellwood Epps is another site sponsor with a good reputation and I usually find a few sporterised Enfields listed on their website.

Was going to say a used PH .303 for $200 will shoot for sure. There's one on canadiangunnutz the one I picked up has a #0 bolthead !

A 303????? But, but.. they all have a wayyyyy too much headspace, bent barrels, wandering zero (if it is a No.5 "Jungle Carbine), plus at least 64 other disastrous things wrong, don't they?

Well, except for the countless thousands that have taken game all over the world, and still do.

A good old .303 British is a fine choice for a rifle. You've done well, my friend!!:)

My No. 5 is great. It has an after market peek and I was making a mess of the bullseye at 50 yards last week. I hope to do better with some new loads this week.

Need it and it's scope No. 4 cousin to be ready for dear season.

If it all works out I am going hunting with a pair of old brits that are very accurate.

A short while ago, I did have two #5's. Sold this one, ;)which is strange for me to sell anything:p

I've heard of 'wandering zero' problems with some #5's but I'm on my 4th one and haven't experienced that yet.

In an effort to minimize headspace problems and shortened case life I've had the bolt head changed to a more appropriate tighter size. Also, for the most part I just neck size after the brass has been fired in that specific rifle.
