Sounds as if you might have a P-'14 (Pattern of 1914) rifle, later termed the Rifle Number 3.
They were a British design based on their VERY heavy version of a Mauser action, with a few improvements thrown in.
Design and development were done at Enfield, modification for American production methods were done by Winchester and production was by Winchester, Remington and Remington's new plant at Eddystone, Pennslyvania. Total production was about 2 million rifles from early 1915 through to April, 1917.
They are one of the toughest and most accurate military rifles ever made.
The P-'14 served as the startoff point for the US M-1917, Honduran Model 1934, Remington's entire line of bolt rifles from the Model 30S down to the present day...... and of the Winchester 54 and pre-1964 Model 70s. In other words, it is the single most important bolt rifle as far as later development in sporting rifles is concerned.
And it will outlast them ALL if you treat it right.
This would actually be better down in MILSURP: more guys there familiar with these.
Just don't expect them to understand your English. Try using punctuation, even if you can't spell; makes things SO much clearer.
