I have a Lee Enfield No.4 Mk.1. When I bought it, the peep hole on the rear sight looks like it was bored out big enough to almost fit a pencil through, which I think is the reason it's shooting 2 feet low at 100 yards looking through the regular sight. When I flip up the yardage and set it for 200 yards (just to see where it goes), it shoots 1 foot high at 100 yards. So I'm assuming the main peep hole is the problem. Anyone know where I can get a hold of a new rear sight, or is there something else I can do to remedy this?

The Lee Enfield #4 Mk1 point of impact is raised or lowered by exchanging the front sight.Available front sights for the #4 are as follows;

Never, ever use a drift punch to remove the front sight!! The proper front sight tool is more efficient and can be manufactured out of an old screwdriver.

"...looks like it was bored out..." Tool marks? The normal rear peep isn't exactly small. Marstar has all three types of rear sight. $15 for the 'L' shaped battle sight. $19 and $27 for the type you have. Stamped and milled respectively. They're also listing the micrometer sight for $36. No front sights listed.
Gunparts lists the fronts at $1.95US each, but don't list any heights. There's a $5US handling fee from them though.
Western Gun Parts in Edmonton might have them too. They want you to pay $30 for their "manual". wgp@westerngunparts.com
Gun shows are usually good places to find parts too.
Epp's is another place that very likely will have front sights.

I saw a few interchangeable front sights for sale, I guess I should go with those. Does the oversized peep hole make any difference though? All other enfields i've seen have considerably smaller peep holes.

By the way, I've checked Marstar.ca and could only find the "L"shaped sight. I don't suppose you'd be able to pull up the link where the milled one that I have? That would be wild if you could do that!

It sounds as though the first time through you were using the "battle sight" portion, they were designed to be easily seen as you bring the rifle up in a WTH situation so they were quite the diameter. Using them to shoot targets takes a great deal of practice to know where it hits. Is there a "MK?" on the front of the sight when you flip it up? (fill in number for ? if there is"

"...the milled one..." Listed on the next two lines(LE4-003A and LE4-003B) below the 'L' sight on Marstar's parts list. The micrometer sight(LE4-050) is farther down the list.

????
Why would you set the yardage to 200m,shoot 100m and think the sights wrong???
Try setting it to 100m and see where it goes.

As per previous message, I was noticing the gun was shooting 2 feet low when using the normal battle sight at 100 yards. Just curious to see where it would go, I set it for 200 hundred yards, I'm aware the 200 yard setting was made for 200 yard shooting.. And to answer another previous question, the sight when flipped up says MK3 on it.

"...yardage to 200m, shoot 100m..." That's not the issue. There is something screwy about the sights. It shouldn't shoot a foot high and 2 feet low with the battle sight even with poor ammo.
The rear peep sight is kind of big. However, that doesn't account for the foot and 2 feet either. Does the front sight look like it has been filed at all?

Sorry for the delay, I'm going to try putting on a new rear sight and see what that does. No, it doesn't look like the front sight has been filed at all. Barrel has excellent rifling, and the bore is straighter than Boy George... Which doesn't say much, but it's still straight.

peep sight hole

peep sights, like gopher holes, may have large holes but that does not affect the POI...you need a front sight height change..
