I have converted and rechambered a new Enfield N°2 MK2 in to 303 EPPS.
I fired formed a lot of new cases and reloaded with various good safe loads...
Now I'm facing a new challenge: What kind of gunsmithing work should be done on the ramp and the magazine in order to feed normally the rifle while shooting it. I have untill now to feed by hand one by one, shot by shot. Do you know any one to advice me technically what to do to modify the mag and eventually the receiver. Even better any qualified gunsmith would be able to perform this delicate task, needless to say I would pay for the labor and expertise. Thanks to let me know.:confused

303 Epps

It is quite common for 303 Epps conversions to have a reduced magazine capacity with the fatter cases. Have you tried putting one or two in the mag and attemped feeding? Otherwise contact ellwoodepps.com or 303british.com.

The problem with the mag, relates to the tapered design of the 303 br VS the square shouldered Epps.
I accomplished the feed ramp mods on a Ross with a dremel tool. Never managed the Ross Magazine. It would work well with two rounds of Epps, and a backup of the rest of the mag full of 303Br.

303 Epps

My 303 Epps P14 conversion will feed two Epps rounds from the mag. Without trying a lot of alternatives, I feed one into the chamber, two in the mag, with the regular 303 on the bottom for hunting. I have never required more than one shot, but I really like the idea of modifying a LE mag to hold 10 Epps rounds but have no idea how this would be done.

303 Epps

For a bubbed P14, I would consider the 303 Winchester magnum which is the 300 Winchester shooting 303 (311/312) bullets. This allows the use of the existing barrel, bolt face and cheap dies/brass. The rifle is rechambered to 300 Winchester, and the magazine inexpensively modified for a 30/06 length cartridge (P17). Lots of posts on this forum on how to do it. Another more radical P14 option, using the existing barrel is a 303 Ultra Mag, using the 300 Remington Ultra Mag case. Much the same as the 303 Winchester mag except more extensive modifications to the receiver and magazine. Gunparts Corp has all the parts cheap. The P14/P17 actions are excellent for truly huge calibres.

Could someone post a link to the thread about the .303 Win Mag. conversion, I've tried a few different search queries but to no avail.
thanks
