It has been sportered but not radically; still can be restored if that is what you want.

On the other hand, might be to quick off the mark; I am told that th AL prefix to the s/n s Alberta Lands.

The rear sight which is on it now is a replacement for the original aperture rear sight, plunger, spring, pin and securing pin. These parts are not hard to find and will render the rifle a lot more accurate..... but, again, there could be a REASON for the changed rear sight,apart from Bubba's inabilty to use a proper sight.

This is a Number 4 Mark 1 rifle. A switch was made in most plants to Mark 1* just as soon as the mod was designed: 3 less parts to make.

How's the bore?

Hey Smellie,are you sure about the No4 Mk1* being made at most plants? Were they not, only made this side of the pond?
