I just bought a box of cast bullets to try in my Enfield. They are a 312dia, 205gr, hard cast, sp with gc. I have on hand 3031 and 4064 powder, and can not find any load data for this bullet. Any sugestions for a start load.
Thanks

I shoot 150 gr .311 jacketed in front of 40 gr IMR 3031. in my 303 at present. the cast bullets are not a manufactured bullet and can be cast in many different weights. I may suggest to start at 33-35 gr 3031 behind them and inspect for pressure signs.

35 grs. of 4064 should give 2000fps, however you will have to seat the bullet as far out of the case and into the rifling as possible for best accuracy, and I'm not sure how this will jive with your magazine length. Congratulations on purchasing the finest cast bullets made anywhere. If you are not familiar with loading cast bullets, you may want to get lee's "universal expanding die" it is used to flare cases to accept the cast bullet without shaving lead. 2 die sets don't have provision for this and the die can be used for any caliber except .50 and above.
