.303 manufacturing differences, does it matter??

To start, i dont reload.
So i noticed that the prvi-partizan bullet is larger than the remington. both 180 grains.
PPu-.311
RP -.301
Now my question is, as im not a reloader, is this goin to make a difference? I know that the ppu is grouping good and my rifle shoots them true. why is there a difference, and as i asked before, does it matter?
The bore of my enfield is in (almost) perfect condition. I plan on moose hunting with it this fall. to get use to shooting it again, i use the ppu's cause they are cheaper, but i plan on runnin half a box of RP's to make sure the accuracy is the same and i like them.
Reason i wanna go with the RP's is because they are core-lokt. I shot a moose with my .300 win mag using federals once, and the lead actually seperated fron the jacket. I couldnt beleive it when i dressed it out and found it in 2 peices.:mad:
Cost is really not a factor in the choice of my ammo for moose this fall, but for practice and to get back into the "groove" of shooting, top $ ammo is not needed.

I doubt that Remington bullets are .301". If they were, they would fall through the bore, and not engage the rifling.
 
It is easy to get confused by your question. If you are saying that both brands of ammunition are designed for, and marked on the box, as being for the .303 British, then the diameters of both brands will be the same, .311. If the bullets are the same weight, also, you likely will be unable to detect any difference in sighting between the two, in your Lee Enfield.
I'll even go one further and state that I don't think the moose could detect any difference between the two, either!
 
Both bullets should be .311".However you definitely need to sight in with the other bullets even though they are the same weight.I have seen close to 3" of difference at 100 yards with two different bullets of the same weight in one rifle,and almost no difference in other rifles.

Remington .303 British ammo doesn't use a .301" bullet. I think, but am not entirely sure, they use a .312" bullet. I wouldn't put any money on it though. Some makers use .311", some .312".
You should slug your barrel to find out what the actual diameter is then use the appropriate size bullet. Lee-Enfield barrels can measure between .311" and .315" and still be considered ok. Over .315" the barrel is shot out.
 
"...Remington does list a .310"..." Good thing I didn't bet on it. In any case, a .310" bullet in a .313" or .314" barrel won't shoot worth beans. Won't be at all dangerous though.
 
Sounds good to me guys. The ole no1 mk3 is what i started hunting with as a kid and i found one in really good shape. Just wanted to use it this year and get back to where i started from, in a good way.
