Good day all, it was our annual gun show today and I was sharing a table with a few friends and sold a few things but bought this thing… a Ross rifle in 303 Ross/brit.
Beautiful rifle but I need more info!! Please share what you know on that rifle( the marking meaning etc!)
I hope I didn’t over pay at $325 including a box of ammo…

You have been robbed . Fortunately for you , I will relieve you of this sorry excuse of a firearm . I'll give you $350 and pay for shipping to help you recover from the trauma of being taken advantage of ........................ you're welcome lol .
All joking aside , that's a very nice rifle for a great price . Let us know how it shoots .

One thing that is a bit weird to me anyway, is the trigger kind of “rattle” back and forth and I’m wondering if there is missing a little spring or something, can’t seem to find a complete assembly schematic online?

What you have here is a bog standard 1905-R factory sporter. Likely a 26” barrel. They use Winchester buckhorn rear sights, and I believe Marlin made the front sights for them. This rifle will have the 3tpi left hand buttress thread on the barrel. These guys also came in 35 Winchester. I have four of these, three in 303 and one in 35. Nice rifle, and having been checkered they don’t quite carry the same value as a pristine original, but you still did good on the price.

thanks for all the info! “Bog”?
The barrel is 24”. There was 3 of them on his table, this one was in my opinion the nicest one and the checkering is quite well done and I thought it is a nice touch(didn’t know about value) they were all the same prices. One had some of the top wood still on!
