I recently aqiured a few sets of dies from an uncle , One of them was a set of 303 Savage Dies(RCBS) . A guy I work with has a savage 99 in 303 Savage and would like to load a few shells for it.

I have a box of brass for it and he has 2 boxs as well, problem is I cant find out what shell holder it is ? and I cant see it in any of the catolog , let alone RCBS 303 savage Dies ? anyone know what # it is ?

Also is there any caliber you can make 303 savage brass from? 30-30? 303brit?

any help would be great

You make the .303 Savage from .220 swift cases. Anneal case neck and taper expand to .310" diameter. Re-anneal and F/L size in the .303 Savage die with expander removed. Trim to length, 2.015". Chamfer and F/L size again. Fireform in chamber. You may find that the .220's rim will need to be thickened to .060"-.063" "(This is usually done by carefully bending it.)

OR

"Make from .30-40 Krag case. Lathe turn rim to .505" diameter. Swage head to .442 diameter. Trim to 2.01". Size F/L. Use .308" bullets."

The .220 swift brass works but if the rifle has a lot of wear to the extractor it shell might not full extract. I usually ust the re-formed ones for bench work only.

44Bore

try .32 special case as they are the closest to .303sav and use a lee shell holder for 32 ,,resize ,trim to lenght, load ,fireform and then you have extra brass, work great in my rifle
