Something in the recipes are not the same. One of you is using a different powder, even though you state its the same, there is a mix-up somewhere.
No rifle is going to go from 2" to 15" and back to 2" though. Try his loads again, and if the results are the same, I'd say let him load for your dad and you stick to your own guns!
