Hi. No milsurp is good enough for hunting. Military FMJ's should never be used to hunt anything. They're illegal for hunting in some places too. There's no mention of it in the Ontario Hunting Regs though.
Anyway, the trick will be finding it. The supplies of surplus .303 ball dried up long ago. Most of it comes in a 64 round box. Not that it matters. It turns up at gun shows occasionally. Try Al Flaherty's Outdoor Store(2066 Dufferin St. (416) 651-6436) or Al Simmons in Hamilton(122 Locke S. (905) 522-1131. 1-877-454-0416).
Stay away from Indian and Pakistani ammo. Not unsafe, but terribly unreliable.
Using 174 or 150 grain commercial hunting ammo will do and be easier to get. Likely less expensive these days too. Have a look in Crappy Tire and Walmart.
