303brit

You aren't going to find anything for it. Ammo is difficult to find, as are reloading components. the manufacturers of bullets for reloading have stopped producing them (Hornady calls it a "Temporary Suspension). Manufactured ammo can still be found but its scarce. Canadian Tire and Wal Mart seem to be the best places to look.

I've started casting my own 303 Brit rounds because of how scarce everything is.

Check out Tradex and Budget Shooters Supply (site sponsors) if you're looking for military spec ball ammo. They carry Prvi Partizan and Sellier & Bellot .303 ball ammo for reasonable prices and it's good quality reloadable brass.

Depends on your version of 'cheap' I guess. My local CTs and Sail all have .303b in stock, but at more than $1 to pull the trigger, I don't call that cheap.

Roll your own. Components in general are getting rarer, but luckily stuff that works in my enfields is available. I get great results from .313 gas checked hard cast rounds from the Bullet Barn, for example, and I'm experimenting with a few other cast round from some local folk, but too soon to make any quality statements. Brass is available, as are LR primers, and I have a few loads with several powders, some of which can still be found.

I hardly see 303b as massive profit. I'm sure there are plenty of shooters out there wanting 303b like myself, but the thousands of rounds that would sit for periods of time over the course of a year in Canada is wasted warehouse space when they can stock .223 in that same space and not be able to keep it on the shelves.

Its a business decision.

Sell a total of 200,000 rounds of 303b a year at a profit of $15,000 use that shelf space for .223 and sell 1.5 million rounds at a $50,000 profit. What would you do? I'd do the same thing. Same goes for the manufacturers. Its all about what sells to the masses. Not what sells to the niche.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not calling 303b shooters a niche, but with the amount of 303b fired in a year by Canadians compared to .223, it may as well be a niche. I only own two rifles. A .22 and an Enfield No4 Mk1. So 303b is my round.....
