303's are ready...

I talked with Clay about an hr ago- incredible that he was taking deposits in mid March and they will likely be in our hands in time for fall moose/deer/bear seasons!

I asked Clay about a little custom engraving to make this specially requested rifle a bit different from other #1A's (besides the cartridge). Clay suggested that Corlane could do the job, and that he had another option for woodwork as well. Would there be any interest, besides myself, in a standardized engraving job on these rifles? Perhaps a subdued, classic, moose head? A stylized maple leaf? A beaver? Other suggestions?

Clay says there doesn't have to be a lot of requests- 5, 25, 100, whatever. The big issue would be to get a quick concensus. Rarely an easy thing among CGN's.

What do you guys think? Interested?

A maple leaf would be fine. No way do I want a moose head on my rifle. It would depend what it costs, too. Because I'd be fine with or without it.:)

DIDO on the Maple leaf engraving. Not really interested in an animal's head on the receiver & I would like to know the cost as well.

I wonder if any stores in the Vanderhoof area could / would / might be stocking up on a variety of 303 bullets of various brands in the near future ??
My dies are wearing out from the constant buffing.... :)

Bump to the top! Who else order one? Or more?:D

Well; there are about 100 orders with deposits. You will see an ad in the August issue of the 'access to firearms'.
I sat back today for a minute and actually had time to think about the one I have ordered for myself and realized what a great rifle this will be and it will be special for many reasons. I used a surplus 303 for almost a decade before I could afford a 'new' rifle. Also, the fact the this project came to be by members on this board; it will give me great satisfaction to own and use this rifle :)

I'm a little excited myself, probably won't get to hunt with it this fall, probably not enough time to develop a load and choose optics, Caribou this year has only a 3 week window in September...

Now all we need is someone to start making 215gr KKSP bullets... :)

Seriously though, this is a bright point in CGN history.
