Hey guys and maybe girls? Anybody come across the differences between the 625 and 306 factory chinese sks' that are out on the market?

I'm wondering if any have a machined trigger group? How many with stamped trigger groups? I thought I had read somewhere that serial numbers under 15 million where milled groups and the ones over the 15 million mark are stamped trigger groups?

Are they pinned barrels or small lug threaded?

Do they all have the side mounted rear sling? (along the left of butt stock)

Any differences in metal or wood?

Any help/info or input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Frog

I sold my 306 (big mistake) and bought one of Marstar's 625s (bigger mistake) The 306 was like a Russian barreled acton in a little bit crappier stock. Very nice machining, fit and finish. The stock fit nice and snug. The 625 on the other hand is a pile in comparison. Poorer QC all around with rougher machining, not as nice bluing, and a much worse stock. Not worth the money IMO
Heres an old pic of my 306, it looks even better in person:

With a nice refinish for the stock it would be as beautiful as a Russian SKS. The 625 does not come close
