.307win vs. 300sav

i had a 300sav awhile back and one thing that i hated about the 99 is where the safety is, on the lever, and i hated the curve lever. i guess i just answered my own question. i will keep my 307 and start hunting hard for brass.

I bought some this past summer at P&D in Edmonton. Reasonable prices as always at P&D, IMO.

The .300 Savage is an ideal deer gun, and they're awful pretty as well.

they are both excellent deer rounds, i guess my problem is with the rifles, the 94 just feels better and i really like the hammer. I hate the safety on the 99, i'm a left hand shot

I am also left handed and have no issues with the lever safety. The trick is to practice and find what works. What I do is reach over the top with my thumb and click it on and off that way. At first it was a little difficult but with some practice it is now second nature.

are we speaking of the old safety on the bottom or the new one that's on the tang?- either way ,i'm left and it doesn't bother me either
