On a whim I got some 110 gr v-max bullets. I am intending to run them through my Vanguard carbine. Anybody have any experience with these little pills and able to give me a reasonable starting point for loading them.

My intention is to use those loads primarily for varmints (Coyote) and paper.

Just need a good starting point for me to tweek from there. :D

Exactly what I use them for, well, mostly coyotes, crows, magpies, and the occasional gopher, but last week I picked apart an old push mower.

They are extremely accurate. I am shooting 3/8" group at 100 from a SOLID bench.
My load of choice is 46.5gn WC-735. 3100fps. MPBR 2.5" +/- line of sight = 215yds.

Gophers at 200yds are not impossible if you take a shooting bench with you.

Good luck.

^^ wow, dogleg, I didn't even try hard. Just threw some cartridges together from start to max and went to the range. Settled on the above load first day out. Came home, loaded 100, back to the range to sight in.
Fired in a Mossberg 100ATR NightTrain. Shoots very well out to 300yds (read hits clays 14/15 times).

I used to run them in my .308 with 50gr of Varget. In my 20" barrel they would run just over 3000. I think with RL5 or 4895 you could do better. In my .30-06 they would run 3500 with IMR4895, and moa out to 300yds.

I don't see why anyone would want to wear down a barrel slinging lead at 3100 fps out of a 308, but with anything above 47 or so grains of Varget will get you pushing the big 3 mark.

I shot them in a few 30-06's, with RL15. Most did about 3300ish FPS and accuracy was pretty decent (under 1.5")

i've made some plinking loads with these for my m305 that shoot fairly acuratley (for a stock m305). i have also used the 110 sierra varmiters over h335 with excellent results in my r700 off the bipod at 100 yards
