.308 -> .30-06?

The .308/7.62 NATO was designed to be able to fire in a .30-06 chamber, with no adapter needed under extreme emergency situations.

One has to wonder if the emergency situation is created before or after firing the .308 in the '06 chamber....:rolleyes:
 
I have just chambered two different boxes of factory 308 cartridges in two different Husqvarna 30-06 rifles that have serial numbers several thousand apart. All cartridges chambered quite easily with no noticeable resistance to the bolt closing. :eek:

The reamers that cut these chambers might clean up a 308 factory chambers.

Should I fire the 308 in these two rifles? That is another question entirely. :cool:
