308 Ammo and Savage 10 Stealth

I am interested in all opinions on 308 Ammo for a Savage model 10 ba Stealth

What's best? most accurate.

What's cheapest and where?

What's the best balance of value for dollar?

What is your favourite 308 round?

You need to try several ammo brands and find what groups well in YOUR rifle. If you don't reload, I would start with Federal Gold Match.

steer clear of tula 308. It's amazingly cheap but I had two rounds way over pressure. If you want cheap and good enough to sight in/ practise with get some hirterberger.

The Hirtenberger Austrian surplus is actually really good stuff, give it a try! My 10TR loves it

Hirtenberger surplus is decent and capable of 1 moa'ish grouping but will not be consistent. Great brass for reloading though, a bought 2100 rounds of it and use a bit here and there, mostly when introducing new shooters. However, federal Gold Medal Match is almost always a great round. First choice though is to reload.
