What are peoples' thoughts/experiences with the .308 and 165g Accubonds?
My son is 13 years old, and was fortunate enough to get his cow moose draw this fall. He is super excited....Anyways the good folks at P & D had a geat deal on Nosler Custom Ammo in the 165g Accubonds, so I bought a bunch. We went out shooting for the first time with that ammo today, and all I can say is....WOW! It shoots fantastic out of his Sako 75 .308 rifle. Three groups of three shots each, averaged
just over 1/2". I think that is excellent for factory ammo...No need to reload for this rifle. My only thoughts are this combination for Moose/Elk; thoughts??

i have never tried them but i hear good things about them. i also like the nosler partitions if you want to try them. i get just over 1 inch groups out of my savage scout with a weaver scout k4 4x28 fixed power scope. it should do much better out of your sako! but ya the 165 gr AB will be great for moose. my grandpa has even shot moose with 308 using 140 gr cheap soft points and that even punched trough the old cow! good luck.

Should be a fine bullet choice in the 308. Myself and 4 friends use the 180gr AB's in our 300WM for moose, elk, etc. I should of looked at P&D again for factory ammo for a few friends (I reload mine). I was there in later part of June and they had no WS 270WSM 140gr Accubonds...or anything in the 270WSM actually.

I was on my way back from salmon fishing with my dad 2 weeks ago and stopped at a smaller store.....seen they had the ammo, but didnt realize it was $75. Oh well, my buddy needed the ammo but I thought it was a bit steep.

I know without a doubt that the 165 partition and BTip are, in my opinion THE best 30 caliber bullet for a 30-06 and 308 without getting into the magnum cartridges. I shoot both out of my 308 and 30-06. If you are a number cruncher, you will note a slight difference in ballistics from one to the other.

But since the rifle is already placing fantastic groups...don't sweat it...the Elk/moose/deer/black bear are not going to know the difference when they get hit. Dead will be dead in one shot!

I have big expectations for this ammunition, as both my son and I will be using it in our .308 chambered rifles this coming hunting season. I bought 12 boxes from P&D. ;) What a great deal it was!
