I'm looking at the bushnell elite 3200 or the nikon monarch. Should I be looking for the compinsator rectical? Any thoughts on which is better. I'm on the coast and the rainguard may be usefull.
I've got an old redfield 2-7 tv screen that works well is an upgrae worth it?
Or go open sight and screw it?

The Nikon Monarch UCC 2-7x32mm looks pretty good compact. 3.9-3.6" eye relief and a OAL of 11.1". Should be a pretty good scope. Also, look at the Leupold VXII 2-7x33 in the same price range.

2-7 is what I thought 3-9 seemed more than I have to offer. Any thoughts on drop compensation or is that just for the lazy?

308 is a pretty flat shooting cartridge, you should be able to zero your scope at 150 or 200 yds and not have to compensate for rise or drop out to 300 or so. What are your typical shooting distances?
