308 brass for 243

Can 308 brass be necked down to make 243 without inside neck reaming??? Thanks, John

I have sized some, come up a little short , but no worries, less trimming

I've done it. Unless you have a tight necked chamber, you should have no worries. As noted, the brass comes out a few thou shorter than spec, but that's not a problem

i resized to 243 for a abolt. worked quite well. even though its thicker than factory brass in the neck, most factory rifles arn't chambered very tight. i also resize 308 to 7 08, slightly short but doesn't seem to affect the accuracy.

308 is all I've used in my 243 for the last 20 years. However, I have to outside neck turn the brass for my rifle. The chamber is a tad tight.
