308 bullet for Moose?

I prefer the 165/168 bullets... Take your pick... But the 150 TTSX will certainly git r' dun!

I personally like the Sierra Game King. It's a hard-hitter and deadly accurate out of my Ruger M77. I'd load up to 180 gr. for moose and/or bear, but that's just my opinion. I like the idea of the increased energy on target, but as always, bullet placement is everything.

Splitting hairs a little bit, Your on the right track with the Calibre already, avoid light frangable projectiles, a premium bonded wouldn't hurt... I like accubonds.

Whats your flavour ;)

This 165 Accubond fell out while skinning our 12pt bull this fall, went through both shoulders and deposited just under the hide. A winner in my book! Weighed 132gr afterwards.

About 20 years ago I bought a box of 1000 bulk bullets for my 30-06. They are 180 gr Remington core lockt. I have used just about half of them and they are very accurate in my Pre 64 M70 FWT. I have killed 6 moose with them over the years and several deer. I have also taken 2 moose with 165 gr hornadys. Both bullets worked well enough to do the job. Are there better bullets out there? Probably. But I have a great deal of confidence that if I do my part, either one of these bullets will drop a moose.

if your rate of twist is a 1:10, my son got an elk at 400 yards with a 208 grain amax... Dropped on the spot, legs kicking right away and dead right quick.
