What should we expect in torque to seat a bullet?
I body and neck size seperately, trim/neck turn/anneal every firing.

Lately i switched to dry tumbling to reduce friction while neck turning.
It also regulated bullet seating pressure needed to seat bullet.
It always felt like the equivalent on resizing a 40SW casing (which is softer to resize than a 9mm)

Long story short, last night i was drinking beer and watching Ken Burns vietnam war reruns and fell asleep on the couch, i had started tumbling 2 hours earlier and was gonna turn off before going to bed.
Wake up this morning, i hear tumbler still going at it, go downstairs to find my 308 brass to be shiny as f***.

Spent all morning processing it.
When it came to bullet seating, it just felt like cycling the press ram without anything in it.
This will definitely have an effect on paper, at least it should in my mind.

What’s the “normal” required torque to seat a bullet?
Have you got a strict tumbling routine so it does not create yet another variable?

50% walnut and 50% corncob, with recommended dose of dillon media polish here
My regular 2.5 hours and my 12 hours had a huge difference
Brass even felt a bit slippery, glided through the neck turner like butter
