.308 case trim question

Do you guys case mouth trim after every reload? I have a whole pile of 1F nato brass and I started case trimming but noticed it wasnt taking much off if any at all, Should I wait until its twice or three times fired before I start trimming? or do it all just to be safe?

Any help is appricated,
 
I trim ALL brass prior to my first loading of it. Doesn't matter if it was brand new brass, once fired commercial brass from my rifle or once-fired purchased elsewhere. After that I don't trim again until it starts to cause a problem. that's just me.
 
Remember... It's easier to case trim now then to pull all the lead with a kinetic hammer, then reclaim all the powder, then trim,then remeasure powder, then reseat all the lead. To me trimming first makes more sense.
 
I have found that once fired brass often exceeds the maximum length. I would trim it all initially and then trim any cases that don't pass through a caliper set to maximum case length for subsequent loadings.
 
I trim any .308 that's reached 2.015"

But if it's new to me or once fired I trim it all back to 2.005" or so then keep an eye on it from there.

If you full length size the cases will grow more, and it is probably a good idea to trim at each reload, after they have reached full length. A Lee trimmer works well for this.

If you neck size only, then your brass will grow very little. You may only need to trim every 5 loads or so.
