Looking to replace the stock on a CIL 950 ( box magazine ) 308 , would any of the tupperware stocks from savage/stevens fit the bill or where would be a good place to look , the Internet searches have giving me nothing thus far.....
according to the numrich no 18, a cil 950 c or d = savage 110 c or d- this is WHY we keep the old numrich catalogues- it's in the store brand to manufacturer index, now at the back - used to be at the front
measure the action screws, centre to centre- the short is 4.275, the long is 5.062- i don't beleive there is a medium- models b, c,d, e, j&k are all short action( caliber probably varies with model letter)
the long action also uses a blind magazine instead of the detachable box mag- if you specify when ordering that THIS IS A C MODEL, you should be alright and also give the screw spacing
It is a savage 110 action they used one action length for all calibers 243, 30-06 and mag.cal. it will have the button release on the side .you need a savage 110 stock made from the 70's -mid 90's it will work prefect .
savage never made a short action until recently they were like the Winchester model 70's when in the 90's they started making a med length action. the cil 950 is from the late 60's early to 70's.
