If you were only going to own one rifle today, you wouldn't be going wrong chosing a .30-06SPRG!
I always look at the .308 as a 150 grain cartridge and the '06 as a 180 grain cartridge. I don't know why, but to me that's where they seem best suited
No question that the .30-06 is ballitically superior......what that actually means to a deer or moose is likely negligible though.
