308 Garand barrel

So can anyone tell me where I might find a 308 Garand barrel. I am not looking to pay $400/$500.
Any help is appreciated. I can not seem to source one so let me know.

The Criterion .308 barrels were fairly available several yrs ago. To my knowledge there is no current importer/vendor for them.

A few fellows here on CGN turned me onto Vulcan Gun Refinishing in ON. He has, or is getting some 308 barrels in. I haven't checked with him yet, but if you do contact him can you post some details if any?

if you are willing to go thru the export import hassle, Gun Parts Corp has .308 Garand barrels. I brought in about 8 barrels 6 or 7 years ago, sold all but one on the EE. For a little paper work I got a free barrel for my Garand.

I don't think they inport barrels anymore, only small parts, too much gov't paper.

308 Garand Barrel

A few years ago I got a Kreiger match barrel from Adams Lake Barrels but it seems that his website has disappeared therefore I assume that he is out of the business. I believe Mystic Precision can get you what you are looking for but not sure of the price. I have recently seen the same barrel I put on my Garand (Short chambered chrome moly/parkerized) selling for as much as $560.00 before taxes or shipping. You can count on another $200 to have it installed and finish reamed. So in short not a cheap venture. What I can say is that you will not regret putting a Kreiger barrel on your Garand.

find in in the US for around 160.00 and then call prophet river. You can get a barrel to you for about $250

The CMP also has them if you can deal with the import hassle.

I think you have to be a member of a few different us dhooting clubs to buy from cmp. I may be wrong.

The club requirement (only one but one affiliated with the CMP) is for a complete rifle, I doubt it applies to parts and in the U.S. only the receiver is regulated. A receiver is legally a firearm down here, a barrel is legally just a piece of pipe.

Nick at Vulcan is becoming an importer of Criterion barrels. Dunno about price though.
