.308 help

My Steyr Scout in .308 would fit the bill.

- extremely light
- fast handling
- accurate
- built in bi-pod
- fantastic trigger
- magazine fed

You can mount the scope traditionally if you like.

What are those bad boys going for these days?

And who sells them?

BTW nice bulldog. :)

A great gun to push with and sit on stand with is definetly the remington 7600 id suggest it in 30-06 although whatever your hunting wont notice the difference.Great gun for quick follow up shots. But then again the browning blr is a great gun to either is good in the thick of it just comes down to which you prefer a pump or lever really.

Both my 7600 produce around sub 4 inch groups at 200 yards off a bench. MOA at 100 yards.

I have not practiced with them enough at 300 to tell you my groups ;).

What I can tell you is the 7600's are an accurate hunting rifle.
Accurizing aside, from a bench the vast reduction in movement in loading, giving the ability to remain consistant on the bags shot after shot gives the bolt an advantage for groups size. In many field positions the advantage would swing back to the pumps.

the Steyr Scout is a nice looking gun and ive always wanted one, but personally if i spent $3000 on a gun i would expect consistent sub-MOA accuracy. 2-3" 3-shot groups like many owners are getting (check reviews online) is beyond unacceptable when you can buy a Ruger Frontier and get sub-MOA for a quarter of the price.

Right now I am leaning towards a Browning BLR. What are your suggestions?
:agree:

I love my Browning 308 BLR. Small yet powerful, and light enough to make it an easy carry in the bush. Good for both long and short shots. I have made kill-shots as long as 200 meters and as short as 25 meters.
Make sure you install a see-though scope for when iron sites are necessary.

Robert
