308 hunting bullets?

I've had good luck with Federal Fusion in all weights.

That’s all I have used in the 308’s 150g, pretty much the same bullet as the Speer deep curl.

I have used the 168 A-Max in a 30-06 years ago, shot quite a few deer with them, also the 162 in 7mm.
Sure they can blow apart, but they did their job, not one target moved more then 12”. Black bears, deer, mtn sheep, moose, all one shots with the A-Max.

Overall the Fed Fusion behaves really well and a good compromise between expansion and toughness. Saying that I only used 168 a-max in the last 10 years for our smaller deer. Main reasons were accuracy from five of my 308 rifles, good down range energy and good expansion at longer range. At shorter range one can always head neck shoot. Took a little over 200 deer with the 168 a-max. Closest 2m, longest shot 510m.

Despite mixed reviews from some, my hunting .308's shoot really well out to 800m with the Hornady sst's. That said I don't engage wildlife past 500m to ensure sufficient energy and I have never had an issue with poor expansion on anything from caribou to bear to moose.
