308 muzzle brake options

how much change in point of impact and accuracy is there with the brake on versus off the same rifle, same load etc.

I know with the m14, Flashider on vs. off, you're lucky to keep it on the same paper at 300 yds,

Not only was point of impact greatly affected but accuracy was out the window as well with proven loads when fh was removed,,

Not sure of any change of impact right now. Had to get the barrel threaded for the brake so had scope and rail off. As far as change in accuracy with known load, it didn't happen for me with this gun/ brake. Best group i had before the brake was. 548" for 5 shots and I did. 651" yesterday. So can't really say there was a change.

In our experience, the American Precision Arms are an excellent product.

If you want a non-radial brake that you can shoot prone - The APA LB Gen 1 or 2 is hard to beat and incredibly efficient!

Sounds great, I have a threaded barrel on my rem700 AAC SD 308, do you have a link to the brake your mentioning? My current one makes my rifle jump up off the bench, I am always having to pull it back in to position. It was a custom made one too from a gunsmith

As some guys have mentioned the same type/ brand of brake can perform very different on various calibers.
I've seen more times where somebody puts a brake on a .308 that looks like it belongs on the artillery range and all it does it make a ton of noise. Keeping in mind the noise can have just as much affect on the shooter as the recoil.

In my experience with a .308 brake, my vote goes to the ATRS unit.......I would also recommend a gunsmith installed brake vs a generic spin on to keep the barrel bore and brake bore perfectly aligned.
