308 norma magnum

No worries... I always reduce internet data and work up.

The 308NM is my son's rifle now so I'm not looking to hot rod this round just to use up some bullets that I'm not using and now and hopefully get him a bit better accuracy plus I have a few lbs of IMR4350 I can use...

JP thanks for that load data after 20 years my rifle stopped grouping as well as it used to and I purchased a 300RUM I gave the 308NM to my son to use think I'll have him bring it back so I can try out your load I have some 200r Sierra BT's that I am not using and a load of new brass.

After reading your post, I dug out the can of powder that I mentioned earlier on. It is in fact MRP but the buddy that gave it to me wrote "The new N 205" on the tin with a felt marker.
 
308Norma

IMR-4350 is nice,in that you can load down,some of the other powders like N-560 I use in mine,have a narrow sweet spot,pressure wise. This is cartridge that is wise not to exceed factory velocity.

Exactly Ted!! Interestingly, in my first 308 Norma Mag, I had access to a chronograph [fairly primitive one, came with a book to interpret velocity from 4 digit numbers on the readout] and the Factory ammo was leaving a 24" tube at close to 3150 fps. The Speer #8 manual verified these velocities in the early Norma 180 loadings. They later backed it off a tad, but it remains a potent package. Eagleye.
 
Have ammo been made available at the same time as the guns there wouldn't be a .300 Win mag..................copied .....copied ............copied....................Harold..........72gr of H-4831 and a 180gr is the cat's a$$ as well

Harold; I have used that same IMR 4831 load in my Norma Mags over the years. Usually very accurate, but 'graphs a bit less than the Norma MRP load! Eagleye.
