I know this topic was beat to death on the old CGN, but now all gone. I've finally got all my gear together to load precision .308, wondering if there's a consensus (HAH!) on a powder. I know Varget's popular... So far the gun seems to like 168gr (cp to 175gr) HPBT Sierras in Federal match, and these seem to fly better than 168gr Norma match (same bullet), but these are the only two "match" loads I've shot with it yet. Tho I haven't chrony'd them yet, the federal seems to be a heavier, more consistent load than the Norma. (meaning I shoot sub-moa consistently with the Federal, the Norma shoots low and the groups seem a little more open.) Also, while I think of it, best primer choice here? I've moved to Winchester primers in my pistols (from CCI) due to better burn, but find them a little soft in reloaded primer pockets (altho no blowouts evident).
