Im shooting chinese surplus with my m305, but I would like to shoot something cleaner. How is the Privi partizan ammo? Reloadable? Is it more consistent and accurate than the chinese surplus?
They are more expensive but still cheap enough if I buy in crate of 500. Just wondering if they are worth it for target shooting.

Brass cased PPU ammo is reloadable. I don't know if they make steel cased or not but I'll put that out there just in case. They're ammo is usually on par with the common Winchester, Remington, or Federal offerings. It's not premium ammo but is quite good. The PPU brass is pretty good in my experience for reloading purposes.

I regularly shoot Prvi (PPU) in a number of calibers, and am happy with all of them. The reloadable brass really reduces the overall cost over time. Much more consistent shot-to-shot than the Chinese I recall shooting. Well worth any added cost over Chinese ammo.

Sounds great. I already have a SKS as a beater gun. I'd like to take care of the m305 a little better than that, the copper washed ammo feels hard on the bolt and leave marks as opposed to brass ammunition.

Edit: Who sells them in bulk in Canada?

I was under the impression that ppu ammo was a hot load. Or so I was told when in the past I was thinking of buying some in 30.06 for my Garand and I figure the .308 would be the same. ie. pressure curve is wrong for both the M1 and the M1a. Can anyone say yay or nay?

I don't know if the pressure curve is wrong for the M1/M1A, it could be, but their European cartridge loads are often quite a bit hotter than US manufactured ones. The US manufacturers play it safe with cartridges for older European rifles for liability reasons but PPU and most other European manufactures load them up to the normal levels. People used to the performance of US made ammo in Lee Enfields, Carcanos, Mausers, etc. often call European ammo hot.

I can easily see their 30-06 loads being wrong for the Garand since so many 30-06 are loaded with slower powders in the 4350 range instead of the original 4895 range but as far as I know most 308 is still loaded with powders in the 4895 or 4064 range because the slower powders don't work as well in the smaller case.
