308 recipies anyone?

I use 150grain bullets and 44 grains of either rl15 or varget and get awsome results out of my rem 700. I use the same recipe with 155 grain bergers to shoot 1000 yards although they arnt hitting hard at that range with a light bullet.

168g hornady BTHP or Amax I used 44.8g Varget .010 from lands. Or 155.5g Bergers 47g Varget IIRC there .040 from lands. And a ground hog round for fun is 110g Vmax with 49.6g varget loaded to book length very fast out of a 29" barrel approaching 3300 fps.
Of course make sure to reduce any loads you find and work up something that is safe. What is safe for me may not be for others.

150 grs Hornady FMJ over 41 grs of Varget.
This is a mild shooting but very accurate load in all my 308 rifles:
  • Anschuetz Mod. 1574
  • Remington 700VLS
  • Norinco M14

My Israeli Mauser likes 14Gr of Promo under Lee .312 155Gr cast (WW) sized .311.Necks sized cases and Win primer are a must.

Anyone got a go to load for a Savage 99 in 308? I've heard they have a different rate of twist than most rifles? I'm having a bit of a time getting it to group well. And if it makes any difference, I'd like to take a Mulie with it this year.

Don't forget to try some lighter for caliber bullets. they sometimes give good groups for rifles that don't seem to group well.
