Given the amount of 223 I can put down range in an afternoon, the thought of owning an AR or other semi in 308 is almost scary at todays ammo prices. There is hope on the "variant" front however and we could potentially see some Holy Grail rifles being ruled non-variants in the next couple of years.

Note: The Remington R-25 is made by DPMS if you don't mind the camo look.

My current fave is my recently purchased TRG 22. Well made, very accurate and if desired the 10 round mag cycles almost as fast as a semi - given the need in Canada to stop and change mags after 5 with the others.
