.308 scope choice

i will go with leup 2x7. large scopes look out of place on lever guns. some low rings and that leup 2x7 would look real good. if your on a budget drop down to a vx1, still lifetime waurenty. that said my levers all have 4x fixed.

I am using a 2-7x36 Kahles on my .308 so I would say a 2x7 Leupold would work well. I was unsure at first but having just sighted in my .308 out to 300 yards i didn't really notice much difference between 7x and the 9x I am use to using. I like the smaller scope on my .308 as well...

I just put a 4X Leupold on my 30/06 great scope as well....

Decision made

Well, I would have gone for a 2-7, but they are more $$ than a 3-9! Dealing with volumes I suppose. Went with the Leupold VX-II 3-9X40, mainly because of their warranty. - shame that such a major part of a purchase decision is 'what happens when it breaks?'
Also found it much cheaper online than through the local dealers. I would much rather support them, but when it almost $100 out of MY pocket......

Thanks for the advise people.
Much appreciated

Leupold

VXII 2-7x33
VXIII 2.5-8x36

If you are hunting bush most of the time? look at the VX III 1.5-5x20 this is one of my most used all around close cover scopes.

I cant complain about my Millett TRS-1 "Tactical Scope". From all the reviews and whatnot it has seemed like a great unit. I have had nothing but great things to say about it as well.

Very nice,
but does one need to get "tactical" on a deer?:D

Well considering it is a Remington 700 Long Range Tactical with "Tactical" stamped on the barrel i found it fitting :p
Deer don't need tactical, its those dam squires!!!

PS also running a Near MFG 1-piece scope base now with a 25MOA slant. :)

Well you can't go wrong with a Swarovski, khales (made by Swarovski), Zeiss, Zeiss Conquest, Leupold or the Burris. Any of those scopes are excellent. The Burris is the best bang for the buck in terms of a quality scope.

I actually really like Leupold, but I think right now the Zeiss Conquest is the better buy.
