Very true, but then there are combinations of cartridge shape, bullet shape, and other esoteric factors that make some cartridges perform better than others. I think the 6.5 is one of those. It's well over 100 years old, but very few cartridges can outshoot it, and for some very odd reason, it performs much better than it should on game. Mind you, with the advent of super high quality bullets, that edge has decreased somewhat, it remains an inexplicably effective, accurate and pleasant cartridge. And I only have 1 6.5, and my favourite caliber is the 45-70, but the 6.5 has an appeal that few other guns have.
