i`m loading for .308 , components on hand are barnes tsx 165 gr,.... varget, imr 4064, and imr 4350, i was loading 44 gr of varget till i figured out my scale was out and had to bust em all apart and start from scratch,

so with that being said, does anyone here have a pet load using any of those powders that i could use a good start point?, , im shooting a remington vtr with a 1 in 12 twist rate
thanks!!

oh i know there is other options for bullets and powders but mainly interested in people that are using this bullet and one of the 3 powders i have on hand..thanks!!

I would try the IMR4064 with a 165gr bullet using starting loads from a manual and then work up in .5 gr increments watching for pressure signs. Ditto for Varget. Individual rifles do show a preference for seating depth/bullet distance from the rifling, subject to functionality thru the action, so it is worth experimenting with this as well. Best accuracy is often found at less than max MV.
