.308 win and 200 grain nosler partition

Thanks for all the great replies. One of the issues i have is that I have some 200 grain partitions but 180 grain partitions seem harder to find!

200+ its time to step up to the .338 federal
Fair call, but then impedment of the powder space is so so aswell with anything larger than .... horses for course though the short range thumper bracket fills nicely.
My 338 Federal does 2700 + fps with 200 gr-er's out of a T3 with a 22.4 " . RJ
thats 30-06 country :D :p
no i like the idea, never had the right situation or rifle or budget to do that route with either 7-08 or 3-08 / 30-06 or whelen the bracket isnt open.

having said that, 200gr .308 at 2400 into 2500... i cant complain, im using similar speeds with heavy for cal 7mm08 for similair idea of close range with as much authority as i can i guess.

200gr speers worked well in my .308 760. I use a .30-06 magazine and have loaded many different bullets.

I have had extremely good results with the Hornady 220 RN in several .308’s, so 200’s should be fine.

I’ll try working up some loads when it warms up outside. Interestingly enough, Nathan Foster of Terminal Ballistics Research thinks that the 200 grain nosier partition is an outstanding bullet for the .308 win. for short to medium range on larger game with excellent penetration. I agree that the 180 grain would have more overall versatility.
