Hello everyone.
Any one have experience with them?
What the pros and cons ?
Want them for plinking and practice and
off course brass for reloading.
Please reply with your opinion.
Bog Thanks .

PPU or Lake City.

Aguila goes bang.......but the brass is arguably worse than Norinco when it comes to reloading.

PPU and Lake City (assuming you mean XM80) are not exactly 'match grade' but the brass is GTG.

I have some ppu lots in rotation. One of the lots is at 11 reloads ( 12 firings) with no cracked necks or loose primers as of yet.
I haven't had a chance to reload LC brass, but I probably wouldn't due to reworking loading due to reduced case capacity.
Aquilla, I'll let the Mexicans have it. The couple boxes I shot in my Ruger gss, made federal fusion's look good....

I bought a bunch of once fired Aguilla 7.62 brass and have never seen brass with flash holes so far off center and non-uniform primer pockets after swaging.

3 out of 100 of the rounds I loaded crushed / wrinkled and bulged at the shoulder - I have never had this happen before. I know it was not the dies as that loading session included 100 Winchester brass brass and 50 Federal brass and they had no issues.

IMHO Aguilla brass is crap and I will not waste my time with prepping and loading this brass again.

Thanks for the info,I would go with PPU then.
It seems like little better then others.
if any of you have a good recipes for 1:10 twist savage 10tr with 150-168-175 gr projectiles?

I bought 2 boxes of Aquila and had a couple rounds from each box not fire. I won’t be buying it again. Is hirtenberger ammo something you’ve tried also? I’ve had good experiences with it.

Aquila is crap imho, not worth reloading. PPU is good stuff, made in Serbia but the neck annealing is hit or miss so you might want to anneal the necks after the second or third reload due to inconsistent neck tension.

However, the Lake City is top grade U.S. milsurp made by Lake City Arsenal in Missouri. This would be my only choice...

If it's XM80, its ammo that wasn't good enough for the military, so not exactly 'top grade'. ;)

150 hrdy fmjbt (or sp), 45 gr Varget, whatever primer, ppu brass.

168 hndy hpbt, 42.2 varget, fed gmm primer, ppu brass. This one shoots better than168 fed gold medal match in my Remmy 700, 20", 1/10 twist. Ymmv.

I've experienced the same. Those rounds that actually fire do group nicely at 100 yards, but I'm not okay with the failure rate. I'll be trying Hirtenberger next.
