Birchwood Casey makes a brass cleaner in liquid form, dilute 4 ounces in one gallon of water.
Works really well, one hour soak will brighten things up, dry then tumble to polish.
i tried using some g 96 , in the media it buffed the black soot more than removing it, due to the amount of brass i have using steel wool to buff off the crap is counter productive
Have they been sized and fired in a non-fluted chamber yet? Punching out those dimples might make for an easier clean next time. I trust you are using walnut media??
the corncob i got is the rough stuff from the petstore not the fine grain you get for tumblers, i have tons of powdered ice tea ill see if it has citric acid in it,
