308 Win - Rechamber?

The kimber 84m action is designed specifically around the .308/30-06 case diameter that's where they get weight savings there isn't enough meat in the chamber walls to go WSM. Kimber has a larger diameter action for magnums. I think the biggest he can get away with is the .284 win but that may be pushing it. This is based on my understanding of Kimbers web site.
A while ago Ardent posted a pic of the regular Kimber beside the "new 84m" there isn't any metal to spare.

hey fellas backin up on the 7mm08 AI thread, I have also a 308 Barrel for the Kimber, Wondering if there is something a bit more powerful that I could Rechamber the 308 barrel into?

is AI worth in this Cartridge?

Given that he already has a 35Whelen, a 338Fed would be a bit redundant.

Because of current shoulder dimensions, might be hard to rechamber without setting it back and you might not be able to set it back enough if you don't have enough shank to work with. It's possible a 30-06 AI can be done as long as you have a long action.

Not a heck of a lot of room on those Kimber 84M or L bolt faces for opening.

Ah.......never looked at or played with a Kimber..........that could be a problem alright............only one option, 284 Win case then.

The 30-06 makes pretty much everything else redundant. We'd have more fun without it.
