.308 win.. The forgotten hunting calibre??

The .308 is great.
I've killed more game with it than with all my other cartridges.
I'm currently seriously considering a major cut-back of my rifles/cartridges, and the .308 is likely the one "cannot get rid of, ever" chambering for all around centerfire use.

Sure aint forgotten with that guy and those i dont even use for hunting, it would take a bigger photo for my hunting rigs.... 308 is the real deal... Period... JP.

And i get to zero it myself before i see her shoot the first rounds of it... I love those situations... JP.
Which is like Calibres, the 3030 could do it but you can always use more

308 kills everything in Canada. Anyone who argues that is nuts. Those are same people who say 223 is not enough for coyotes. Yes magnums can kill a moose at a longer distance then 308. But here in ontario if anyone tells you a story about how they killed a moose at 600 yards. There lieing. Our bush doesn't have that. And the very very very few who may have seen one in a clearing that far. Missed lmao. I know guys who moose hunting with 12 guage and slugs. Our bush you will never have more then 150 yard shot. Usually it's less then 60 yards.
On a related note...
I have a big Bushnell 12x 40x50 scope that I keep around to justify buying a rifle that it could fit on.
It doesn't fit too well on my handy rifles.
It came off the 300 win mag I sold a few years ago.
I wonder if it is too much for a .308?
But the optics are crystal clear and one can focus it at specific distances like a range finder which is pretty neat IMHO.

Not arguing with you at all, but I'd want something heavier for Bison.
One friend, a taxidermist has killed every Western Canadian horned and antlered big game animal except Bison with his 308 Winchester...

If you are well experienced with the .308 and moose hunting, then bison won't notice what you shot 'em with.
