308win headspace gauges??

So, I have all the parts required to build my stag 10 now. I've been looking around for so 308 win go/no-go gauges to check headspace but haven't found any in stock anywhere. I've got the brownells bcg and a faxon barrel. If I buy a faxon bcg, do I even need to check the headspace? Can anybody point me in the right direction? Or does anyone near Burlington have a set?

Send it out to a local gun smith if there is any around there.

TNA will check it for you for 10 or rent you the gauges for a week or sell you gauges.
 
Yes, faxon barrel & faxon bcg don't guarantee any particular fitment. I went this route hoping slightly for better fitment but it made no difference.

I believe faxon does sell a matched barrel and bcg set which offers better tolerances but I would still suggest on having it headspaced.
 
The best way to guarantee proper headspace is get you barrel headspaced to a bolt of your choosing when you order it. Short of doing that if it fails a headspace check you are stuck buying and trying different bolts until you find one that works. An ar barrel cant be re chambered or set back without a pile of work. With a good brand like faxon you're chances of it failing headspace are pretty minimal.
 
Shoot it and measure the fired case with a Hornady case comparator? Haha. If the headspace is really bad you might get case head separation. That's what I did with my AR15; not the safe way of doing it but I wore safety glasses.

I was in same situation, so I ordered a .308 Clymer go/no go gauge set from Brownells, I just got it the other day in the mail. If your close to Mississauga I can let you use it if your interested
